loving the word, "glug."
as in: Chop four eggs roughly, add a tablespoon of dijon and a glug of mayonnaise.

Verb 1. glug - make a gurgling sound as of liquid issuing from a bottle; "the wine bottles glugged"
So...I can see adding a glug of wine, perhaps even TWO glugs of red to a hearty beef stew, or just my gaping maw, for that matter.
However, no matter how hard you slam the bottom of a mayo jar, it will not 'glug' when it finally 'plops' form the jar...
Perhaps the recipe is old? And the texture of the mayo was more consistent with, say...aoli? But even, then, to glug?
Hmmmm.
T'is a puzzle.

I always think of mulled wine you get at the German Christmas festivals when I think of "glug." Although I think the correct spelling for that is "Glogg."
